We place great importance on the proper processing of your data. When processing your personal data, we comply with data protection regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG).

According to Article 4(1) of the GDPR, personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.

II. Categories, Purpose, and Legal Basis of Personal Data Processing

1. Website Visit

The use of our website is generally possible without providing personal data.

However, we would like to point out that access data is collected and stored in the server log files when you visit our website. This particularly includes the following data:

  • Browser type / browser version
  • Operating system used
  • The website from which you visit us / Referrer URL
  • Date and time of your visit
  • Your IP address in anonymized form
  • Hostname of the accessing computer
  • Consents and withdrawals regarding cookies

The data mentioned above is processed to ensure a smooth connection and comfortable use of the website, to evaluate system security and stability, and for administrative purposes as well as to detect misuse and resolve issues.

If the appropriate consent has been given, usage profiles are created under a pseudonym using tracking services and cookies. Such a profile contains information about a visitor’s behavior on the website and is processed for marketing purposes. Tracking technologies requiring consent are not used unless explicitly selected.

The information is collected by our hosting provider, IONOS, and forwarded to us. This information is evaluated exclusively in anonymized form to prevent and detect attacks and to optimize the website offering (processing of personal data based on a legitimate interest pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and is deleted after a maximum of 6 months.

We do not merge these data with other data sources. We reserve the right to retrospectively evaluate the data in the event of concrete indications of unlawful use.

2. Contact via Phone / Email

If you contact us by email or by phone, we process the personal data you provide. The processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR and the data is used exclusively to respond to your inquiry; it is not used for sales calls or any other marketing purposes. We delete your personal data after processing your request, provided it is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected and there are no contractual or statutory retention obligations. 3. Consent

In order to lawfully process your personal data, we may obtain your consent on a case-by-case basis for the processing of your personal data. In doing so, we explicitly inform you of the purpose of the intended data processing. The processing is based on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

Your data will only be processed if you grant us your consent. It is possible that the handling of your request may not be possible without your consent and therefore depends on it. The processing of the data is carried out exclusively for the purpose(s) explicitly stated.

You may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. The withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out based on your consent prior to the withdrawal. For further information, please refer to “IX. Data Subject Rights”.

4. Use of Our Contact Form

We use a contact form on our website. This service is provided so that you can get in touch with us electronically. If you wish to contact us via this form, we process the information and data you provide.

To use this form, you must provide certain mandatory information, which is marked as such. The mandatory information includes the following data:

  • Salutation, first name, and last name
  • Your address
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number
  • A message including the subject
  • Your professional interests, if provided in the contact form

By providing your data and submitting your request, you consent to the processing of your personal data. We therefore base the legal grounds for data processing on Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. If this involves special categories of data pursuant to Article 9(1) GDPR, you also consent to the processing of such data (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR). If the contact is related to a purchase, we process your data in the context of the purchase contract in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. (For further information, see “III. 5. Processing Based on Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR)

If your interests in data protection conflict with our interests, we conduct a balancing of interests. In this process, we weigh your interests against ours. If the balancing of interests shows that our interests outweigh yours, we process your personal data on the legal basis of Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Our interests and purposes include, for example:

  • Ensuring the IT security and integrity of our systems
  • Preventing or investigating criminal offenses
  • Asserting or defending legal claims

III. Retention Period

We store your personal data only for as long as necessary and provided that your data is not subject to statutory retention obligations under the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung, AO) or the Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB). We delete your data once the purpose has been fulfilled and, if a legal obligation exists, after the expiration of the statutory retention period.

At the latest, after the expiration of the statutory retention period, we will destroy or delete the remaining personal data subject to retention obligations. For accounting records (invoices, contracts, bank statements, etc.), this is 10 years (§ 147 AO), and for other relevant business documents, 6 years (§ 247 HGB) after creation.

IV. Disclosure of Data

We generally do not disclose your personal data. Should we engage external service providers to perform a task, we only share your data if we require the external third parties, as necessary, to comply with data protection laws under a data processing agreement. Furthermore, data disclosure only occurs to the extent permitted and necessary.

3. Purpose of data processing

Technically necessary cookies enable the optimal use of the website. Consent-based cookies are used for marketing purposes.

4. Storage period and data subject rights

Cookies are stored on the user’s device and transmitted to our website. Therefore, you, as the user, have full control over the use of cookies. By changing the settings in your internet browser, you can disable or restrict the transmission of cookies. Cookies that have already been stored can be deleted at any time. This can also be done automatically. Matomo is disabled when you visit our website. Your usage behavior is only recorded in an anonymized form once you actively give your consent.

VI. Special Processing

1. WebAnalytics

This is a tool provided by the hosting provider IONOS for web analysis. IONOS uses it to further improve the website and better tailor it to the needs of users.

WebAnalytics collects anonymized usage data (referrer [previously visited website], requested website or file, browser type and version, operating system used, device type used, time of access, IP address). The data is determined either through a pixel or via a log file. To protect personal data, WebAnalytics does not use cookies.

The visitor’s IP address is transmitted when a page request is made, then immediately anonymized and processed without any personal reference.

Tracking and logging are enabled by default.

2. Classic Editor

Classic Editor is a plugin maintained by the WordPress development team that restores the previous (“classic”) WordPress editor and the “edit post/page” interface. This makes it possible to use plugins that extend this interface.

It enables the WordPress editor and the post editing screen with TinyMCE, meta boxes, and more.

3. Elementor

We use the plugin “Elementor Website Builder for WordPress”. This plugin does not process any personal data.

ElementsKit Elementor Add-ons is an add-on for the Elementor Page Builder. It includes modules such as the Header Footer Builder, Mega Menu Builder, and Layout Template Library. It supports the design of WordPress pages and posts.

The plugin processes some statistical, non-personally identifiable data, including the browser type used, referring pages, service usage, pages visited by users, and other similar information. It may also store data about the partner that referred the visitor to the website.

8. IONOS Performance

The IONOS Performance plugin uses a cache to store HTML content generated by WordPress. This improves the performance of our website.

9. Neve Theme

Neve Theme is a customizable multipurpose theme. It is an AMP-optimized and responsive theme.

Neve Theme automatically receives traffic data recorded by the hosting servers, as well as cookies that may contain some personal data and the IP address of your computer.

VII. Your Rights

  • Request information about your data processed by us in accordance with Art. 15 GDPR. In particular, you may request information about the purposes of processing, the categories of data, the categories of recipients to whom your data have been or will be disclosed, the planned storage period, the existence of the right to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, or objection, the existence of a right to lodge a complaint, the origin of your data if not collected by us, and the existence of automated decision-making, including profiling, and, where applicable, meaningful information about its details;
  • Request the correction of inaccurate or the completion of incomplete data we hold about you in accordance with Art. 16 GDPR;
  • Request the deletion of your data stored with us in accordance with Art. 17 GDPR, unless processing is necessary for the exercise of the right to freedom of expression and information, compliance with a legal obligation, reasons of public interest, or the establishment, exercise, or defense of legal claims;
  • Request the restriction of processing of your data in accordance with Art. 18 GDPR, insofar as the accuracy of the data is contested by you or the processing is unlawful;
  • Receive the data you have provided to us in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, or request its transfer to another controller in accordance with Art. 20 GDPR (“data portability”);
